Here’s the latest news from the class of 1959
Vincent Kinney
I graduated from St John’s University in 1963 with a Math major. I worked for five years each at Prudential and then Honeywell, and retired from General Mills after 33 years. I worked in IT as a business analyst rather than a technical guru.
My wife, Jean (Weis) Kinney, from Bird Island, MN, leveraged her language skills to become an American Sign Language (ASL) interpreter for deaf students at Hennepin Tech.
We have three children, four grandchildren and one great-granddaughter. We enjoy traveling, having visited many foreign countries and all the U.S. presidential libraries. We now live seven months of the year in a retirement community in Surprise, AZ, and the five summer months in MN.
Hobbies: Volunteering: AARP Tax Aide and handyman work for Senior Community Services.
Tidbits/Trivia: I played senior softball after retirement. My team won a national tournament in Florida in 2010. I was named to the all-tournament team.
After hip and knee replacements I played pickleball and loved it. That ended when I fell and shattered my left femur, requiring hip revision surgery. Now walking is my exercise.
Loreen Jensen (Bergstrom) – Living in Oregon
Greetings to all former classmates,
I have been living in the same place in southern Oregon since 1977. My husband Gary passed away in 2000. He worked for the USFS so we came where the big trees are. Now we are in fire season and some fires have come within a couple miles of my property. I still enjoy the beauty of the area.
I have three children, eleven grand children and 5 great grand children.
My youngest daughter and her husband are living with me now. We try to have a big family dinner every Friday. I’ve decided faith, family and friends are everything. So far my health is good, only a little slower. I continue to enjoy sewing and volunteer work in the community.
